How can I use MSTBOOT with LINUX?

The boot manager does not need its own partition, but it uses an available FAT Bootpartition. Apart from the LINUX partition a FAT partition must thus always be created. This must be the active primary partition. For the installation of LINUX and its start via MSTBOOT you proceed in the following way:
  1. If you do not have a bootable CD ROM you create first the boot and root diskettes for the LINUX installation. For selection and method, see the respective descriptions.
  2. Boot your system from the MSTBOOT diskette and start the program MSTBOOT.EXE.
  3. Select the function Boot section->Prepare (Alt+B, P) and terminate MSTBOOT again (Alt+X).
  4. Restart your computer with the LINUX bootdisk you just created, or with the CD ROM.
  5. Now install LINUX into a separate partition.
  6. Set up LILO in such a way that LINUX is started automatically from this partition.
  7. After termination of the installation boot your system from the MSTBOOT diskette and start the program MSTBOOT.EXE with the parameter -p. (mstboot -p).
  8. Select the function Boot section->New partition (Alt+B, P).
  9. From the list of the partitions select the LINUX partition and finish the function.
